We want to bring the wisdom of the I Ching into everyday modern life — as a way of thinking and a guide for action — and help build a kinder, more peaceful world.

Humanity has never had access to so much information — and yet has never felt so lost at the moments that matter most.

We can look up any fact in milliseconds, but we often find ourselves stuck for days over questions like “Should I change jobs?”, “Should I speak up?”, or “Should I hold on or let go?” What we lack is never data — it's the ability to see clearly where we stand right now, and the courage to face it honestly.

Three thousand years ago, a way of thinking emerged that was built for exactly these kinds of questions. It helps you see your present clearly: what is moving your situation forward, what is holding it back, and which path is most likely to take you where you want to go.

It's called Six Yao. For three millennia it was part of Chinese life, but over the last century it has been dismissed as “fortune-telling” and “superstition” and has gradually faded from serious life.

We think that's a loss.

Meditation evolved from religious ritual into mindfulness practice. Astrology went from court mysticism to a doorway into self-awareness. These ancient practices all found ways to speak to people today. The I Ching — one of humanity's most sophisticated philosophies of change — deserves the same chance.

What We Do

YaoMaster uses AI's ability to understand language and context to unpack the logic of Six Yao — cause and effect, change, and action — making it clearer, more repeatable, and easier to verify.

We want every reading to be an honest look at your own situation — helping you see its shape and its possibilities, then leaving what you do next entirely up to you.

We don't manufacture fear. We don't sell dependency. We don't promise miracles.

From the I Ching's tradition of moral cultivation, we've distilled five core virtues — Courage, Honesty, Kindness, Moderation, and Perseverance — to help people turn their readings into concrete action. To us, “following Heaven's principle” means making each choice with the right moral compass, and “honoring the human heart” means believing that everyone has the power to shape events through their own actions.

Every choice is a small shift in the hexagram. Divination is the starting point. Action is the destination.

Why We Do This

We don't pretend to have all the answers. Six Yao is more like a mirror — it helps people see clearly, but it doesn't decide for them. What we can do is keep making that mirror clearer and more honest, and leave the choice entirely to each person.

For us, divination has only ever been a starting point — a moment to pause, look inward, and get your bearings. When someone comes to a hexagram genuinely unsure, looks honestly at their situation, and then acts with clearer awareness and stronger character, that process is itself the practice of I Ching wisdom.

What we truly care about is whether this kind of practice can happen again and again, spreading from one person to many.

What We Believe

Much of the needless suffering in human history — from personal burnout to conflict between groups — comes from the same place: looking outward too much and inward too little; being driven too easily by fear and too rarely by virtue.

The I Ching saw this three thousand years ago. At its core, it has always taught how to stay true to yourself amid change, and how to keep your clarity and goodwill in the face of uncertainty.

We believe that if this wisdom truly becomes part of everyone's daily life, humanity will be transformed. Goodwill will go from scarce to the norm. Conflict will fade like the diseases of an earlier age. And humanity will enter an entirely new era of civilization.

Is that future an impossible dream, or a reality just over the horizon?

No one knows.

But we'll keep walking toward it, with conviction, until we get there.
